Make Money Fast: How to Make Money Fast

Posted in Other earning money on May 30th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Most of this website is about generating a six-figure income by working hard over several months… but this tutorial is a little different. If your goal is just to learn how to make money fast (like just a few hundred bucks), this is for you.

The old-timers reading this probably know that I’m talking about Project Payday, a free website that guarantees you’ll make $100 online, or they’ll just send you the money with no strings attached.

It’s the only way to make money without a website that I endorse. I don’t suggest you try out any other “work at home jobs” for two reasons:

  • Project Payday is free. It won’t cost you a dime to get set up, and you can make money without giving out your credit card information or anything. Go to their site and enter your email.
  • Project Payday is garaunteed. If you don’t make at least $100 doing what they tell you to do, and fast, then just contact them. They’ll deposit the money into your account without you having to do anything. That’s a success garauntee that anyone can get behind.

To be honest, I wish more people running “make money online” websites would support Project Payday. It’s free, there’s no risk, and you will make money. Why other sites don’t get behind the project is beyond me.

Tip: Sign up for Project Payday, look around, then come back here to read more. Try to force yourself not to get up until you’ve made $100. You’ll be surprised how easy it is.

What Project Payday Is and Isn’t

You can make money fast but you can’t get rich with Project Payday. In other words, you might be able to buy a new TV, but you won’t be able to buy a new porche. I can’t stress this enough… I don’t want you to go in expecting too much.

Project Payday is not a way to make a 6-figure income online. This is only if you want to make a few hundred dollars per day. You won’t get rich, but you can make a realistic income quickly.

If your goal is to make a 6-figure income, and you don’t need to make a little fast money, then Project Payday is a waste of your time. Instead, go back to the main make money online page and read about starting a website. This is the method I use to make money, and it works.

But still, you don’t have to choose one OR the other. You can use both. More importantly, you can use Project Payday to get a free website. I’ll explain how below.

A Popular Way to Use Project Payday

A popular way of using Project Payday looks like this:

  1. Sign up for Project Payday.
  2. Make $100-200… then stop.
  3. Make your own website.

By making 100-200 with Project Payday, you’ll have more than enough to get started with a “real” online business: a website.

My website (the one you’re on right now) is paying for my college plus some. I’ve had it about 6 months. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. It cost about $100 to get set up.

Don’t have the money? Then sign up for Project Payday, get the money, and make money online for yourself. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me after you sign up.

Doing this means you can build your own website — for free. You’ll not be out of any money. Effectually, you’ll be getting Project Payday to pay for your website.

One Last Note

Note: You do not have to spend money to sign up… Project Payday is completely free.

I hate to keep saying it’s free, I just don’t want you to think you have to spend money like all of the scams out there. You can’t lose money. You can only gain money. Just sign up, and only go for the free services — don’t ever give your credit card info out.

How to Make Money With Your Website

Posted in Other earning money on May 7th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

This is the fun part — actually making money online with your website. There are tons of ways to do this, so feel free to mix and match the following concepts, or come up with one of your own.

Note that you’ll need to experiment with your monetization. A website that might only make $10 a day from adsense could make $1000 from affiliate programs. Choose your method of making money wisely.

Advertising Programs

Advertising programs are the most popular way to make an income with a website — almost every website has them. There are plenty of companies that give you a special code to put on your website. This code then looks like a block of advertisements when visitors see it.

There are basically direct types of online advertisements — CPC, CPM and direct ads.

“CPC” stands for “Cost Per Click”, which means you’ll make money only when someone clicks on your ad. You can make anywhere between 10 cents and 10 dollars per click.

“CPM” stands for “Cost Per Thousand”, which means you’ll get paid when people see the ads — just a very, very small amount. You might get paid $1-2 per thousand times someone sees the ads.

A direct ad is when you are paid directly for the ad to be listed on your website. This amount isn’t dependent on how much traffic will see their ad or how many clicks they get — they’re making a decision to trust that your website will make their ad worth while.

CPC Advertising Programs

  • AdSense.com
  • AdBright.com
  • Chitika.com

CPM Advertising Programs

  • BannerConnect.net
  • RightMedia.com
  • Revenue.net

Direct Advertising Programs

  • PerformancingAds.com
  • OIOPublisher.com

These are just the start. There are hundreds of advertising programs to be found online. Do some digging and you can find more.

Sell Products

A website is basically a storefront — you can sell products. You can sell anything from birdhouses to pet food to wholesale watches — if it exists, you can sell it.

Even if you don’t own your own product, you can sell a product for another person or company. That’s called “affiliate marketing”, and you can read about it below.

Affiliate Programs

Affiliate marketing is where you become a sort-of online salesperson for a company or person. You get a special link that only you have — anyone who buys/signs up through your link will be registered in the main database. The computer will track how many sales you make, and you’ll get a comission.

For example, at my financial website, I’m a salesperson for banks and “sell” savings accounts. If someone signs up for a savings account through my site, I’ll make about $25. That’s how affiliate programs work.

ClickBank.com
CJ.com
Amazon.com

Last Thoughts

There are tons of more ways to make money online. You can sell a service (consulting, reviews, advice, graphic design, freelance writing, etc), sell links (risky) and dozens of other things.

Personally, I use a mixture of affiliate programs and advertising programs. I find they go together well.

If you haven’t built your website yet, then read the 10-step program to get started.

The 50-Article Plan: Content That Makes Money

Posted in Other earning money on May 5th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Quick Tip: “content” is whatever is on your website, like articles, videos, pictures, etc. It’s whatever is drawing people to your website in the first place.

In case it isn’t completely obvious, I’m a firm believer in good planning. Financial plans, website plans — plans give us a direction, and organize us so we know exactly what to do next. When you have a plan that works you can focus all of your efforts where it counts the most.

Your website’s content is no different. You need a plan. In this article we’ll be talking about exactly what kind of content plan makes the most sense if your goal is to efficiently make money with your website.

The 50-Article Plan Explained

The plan is extremely simple. Analyze your niche. Boil the topic down to 3-10 sub-topics. In each of those sub-topics, write 5-10 articles that cover everything about the sub-topic. The exact numbers will be whatever it takes to insure that you end with about 50 articles. Now write the articles.

Your content will look something like this:

Your Website’s Topic Sub Topic

  1. Article Article Article
  2. Article Article Article
  3. Article Article Article

Sub Topic

  1. Article Article Article
  2. Article Article Article
  3. Article Article Article

Sub Topic

  1. Article Article Article
  2. Article Article Article
  3. Article Article Article

You’re done. That’s the 50-article plan.

A Quick Example

For example, let’s say you’re writing about why gun control is unjustified. That’s your niche. Your website is going to discuss the topic of gun control, gun laws, self defense, etc. So you’d boil the topic down to 3 general sub-topics. Then you add 10 or so articles under each of the sub-topics. You’d link each “leg” of the ladder — your main page would link to the sub-topics, which would link to the specific articles.

For example:

Topic: Gun Control

Sub Topic: Gun Control and Crime

  1. Gun Control Failed in the UK
  2. Gun Control Failed in Washington, DC
  3. Gun Control Failed in Canada

Sub Topic: Gun Control and the Constitution

  1. Gun Control Violates the 2nd Amendment
  2. Gun Control Violates the 14th Amendment
  3. Gun Control Violates the 9th Amendment

Sub Topic: Gun Control and Morality

  1. Gun Control Makes Minorities Defenseless
  2. Gun Control Makes Women Victims
  3. Gun Control Disarms the Innocent

Is it beginning to make sense? The goal is to create a simple heirarchy that gives your website three layers: your home page, the secondary pages, and then your third pages.

The Goal of the 50-Article Plan

The purpose of the 50-article plan is to make money. This is achieved through several means.

As I’ve explained before, the best source of traffic to your website is search-engine traffic. Search engine visitors are more likely to click your advertisements, buy products, sign up for newsletters and other things that make you money.

By building your website with a strong heirerchy, and making sure you link “down the ladder” from your home page to the sub-topic pages to your specific articles, you are making sure that the search engines know what your most important pages are.

This is extremely misunderstood by most of the “make money blogging” gurus.

For example, let’s say you write an article every day for a blog. When you write an article, it will be replaced by another article, and then another, until the article you first wrote is lost in the archives somewhere. It’s “harder” for the search engines to see that article. There are fewer links from your site to that article. You’ve effectually lost time and content. It’s innefficient.

This isn’t the case with the 50-article plan. Plus, with such an easy-to-use 50-article heirarchy allows people to find the information they want, and quickly. This means your visitors are happier and are more likely to read, click, buy and even link to you. It’s a win-win situation.

But perhaps most importantly, having 50 articles gives you a goal that you can achieve. Most websites are “open ended”, meaning the goal of the webmaster is to keep writing until doomsday. There’s no set goal. With the 50-article plan, you know exactly when you’ve achieved the goal.

This Isn’t the Only Way

Of course, there are dozens of other ways to publish content that makes money. There are other systems and plans that might work just fine for some people.

But this website is about finding a system that works for anyone — we want guarunteed success, not chasing possible wealth. The purpose of this website (and, specifically, this page) is to detail and explain the steps I’ve taken to success so you won’t need any guess work.

No theory here — just what we know works. And the 50-article plan does just that.

What to Do Now

The 10-Step-Plan: How to Make Money Online

Posted in Other earning money on May 1st, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

The Internet is filled with thousands of blogs that teach tips for making money online — unfortunately, very few give you a detailed tutorial for how to build your own website that will contually earn an income indefinately. That’s what this page is for.

This is the exact plan I use when making a website.

This is literally what I have in a word document on my desktop to remind me to keep to the plan. It’s extremely systematic, and it works. I’ve used it to dominate topics like “financial planning”, “financial advice” and “savings accounts”. I can personally vouch for this plan because, well, it’s my plan that I use.

Several readers told me they’ve made this article their home-page until they get the first 6 steps accomplished. This continually reminds them to make sure they actually build their website — rather than wish they had 12 months from now. If you think this tactic would encourage you as well, feel free to do so!

Steps 1-6: Getting Started

The first six steps only need to be done once. This means after you get the first six steps finished, you can simply work on the website whenever you feel like it, and you’ll be making money online.

1. Get a Domain and Host. You can get both for less than $5 per month. Remember, you’re starting a complete business for that money. Treat it as a business, and you’ll suddenly see why I constantly urge friends and family to build a website.

2. Get a usable website design. You can install Wordpress with one click if you get your hosting through Blue Host or Just Host. It’s a free program that lets you manage everything on your website, including free web designs. You can even use this website’s design for free.

3. Plan out 50 articles. Whatever topic you choose your website to be about, plan out the 50 pages of your website. Go get a pen and notebook if it helps you. Just plan out the 50 articles. You won’t need more than 50. Please make sure to read this article — it’s one of the pillars of the 10-step plan.

4. Write the articles or outsource. Write the articles yourself or outsource the writing to a freelancer or a firm. I do a mixture of both. I write about what I find interesting, and have someone else write what I find to be boring. Regardless of your budget, you can find someone to write your content over at Text Brokers.

5. Place ads and affiliate programs. Don’t do this until you have all 50 articles written and placed on your website — it can be distracting if your content isn’t finished. Check out programs like Adsense, Commission Junction, Click Bank, and others. Mix and match until your website looks professional with both advertisements and relevant affiliate programs.

6. Set up a newsletter. A newsletter is a cool way of having a method for contacting people who have been to your website and trust you. You can use GetResponse — one of the most famous services. This insures that you’ll always have thousands of people on-hand if you want to sell products or remind them of your website.

Steps 6-10: Marketing and Earning

The first six steps are about getting set up. Unfortunately, very few people actually get past the first six steps. It’s extremely easy to get distracted with adding advertisements and reading about cool tools that will “make money” for you on “autopilot”.

Do yourself a favor: ignore everything except accomplishing the first six steps until you get them done. Don’t go out of order. Just concentrate and accomplish your goals. Trust me, you’ll save months — if not years.

Once you get the first six steps accomplished (and not before), start with the rest. The next four are about increasing traffic through your website.

7. Write articles for article directories. Article directories are a fantastic, cheap and easy way to build links and awareness. Websites like Buzzle.com and EzineArticles.com let you publish an article with a link back to your website. Just talk about your niche and tell people that there’s more where the article came from — you’ll build traffic.

8. Trade links with other webmasters. This works best if you have other websites to bargain with (for example, I’ll link to your site from my B site if you’ll link to my A site). This let’s you build relevant one-way links to your website, which are important to most search engines. A few months of this and you’ll get significant search-engine traffic.

9. Submit articles to blog carnivals. One of the coolest and most important websites for a webmaster is BlogCarnival.com. It lets you add your best articles to a “carnival”. A carnival is basically where some webmaster volunteers to link to all the articles that were submitted about a specific topic, like financial planning, knitting or NASCAR. You get free links, and curious people will click on your articles to read. Double win.

10. Write guest posts. This is one of the most important strategies for building traffic. Go to the most popular websites/blogs in your niche and offer to write for them. They’ll give you the credit, which can give you relevant links and hundreds (if not thousands) of visitors. This is the most important method I’ve used to generate traffic.

A Quick Warning

When it comes to building an online business, thousands of “internet marketers” want to sell you tutorials, ebooks, courses and other stuff that you just don’t need. Most “make money online” and “make money blogging” blogs are complete wastes of time. The constant barrage of “tips” are rarely worth the time to read every day.

Success, as we discussed in the 80-20 article, is almost always about the basics. Use the principles in this post one right after another, and you’ll have a full-time income.

Update: Several people have asked how long this process takes. The answer is: it depends on how much time you’re willing to spend.

I don’t work more than 1-2 actual hours per day, and haven’t needed to yet. I made it to the first page of Google for “financial planning” on the week of my website’s 6-month anniversary

It’s best if you don’t think about time, and instead think about the steps. Start with step one, actually get a domain and host, and then work on the next five. Stick to the system and the income will follow.
