I have some exciting news to share with you guys. Around four weeks ago I received an email from a woman claiming to be an executive producer with one of the largest news channels in the U.S.. Needless to say that I thought it was a scam initially, but the email address was looking legitimate, so I replied.

After a couple of messages back and forth the woman told me that her news channel was looking for someone to comment on blogging and new media. It would be a daily appearance on one of their early morning shows. She told me that my blog and name came up after they did a preliminary research on the web, and they wanted to know if I would be interested to test for the role.

My answer? “Absolutely!”

Over the following weeks I did an endless number of tests. Some of them were just conference calls with the managers to discuss the general aspects of the gig, while others were actually video pilots of the appearances I would be making.

Long story short, they liked what they saw, and we signed a deal! If you live in the U.S. or have access to the U.S. news channels via satellite TV, therefore, you’ll start seeing me live every morning. The appearances will be just 2 or 3 minutes long, but it is still very exciting!

They are two ways to make money online with Google. One is through Google Adsense. The other is through Google Adwords. Google Adsense and Google Adwords are two products owned by Google.

I will describe these products briefly so you can learn this way to do it.

Google Adwords: this method is not free. Google Adwords is simply a Google advertising program. It is a pay per click advertising program. This simply means that you will have ads on google and whenever someone clicks on it you pay your chosen bid usually in cents. An example of this ad can seen when you make a search at Google, the sponsored links beside your search result. This is a method to do targeted advertising. The idea is to make money online through a combination of Google Adwords and affiliate program.

Let me suppose you now know what Google Adwords is all about, but you do not know what affiliate program is all about. They are companies which will pay you to advertise their products and in return you will earn a fixed commission when someone you referred make a sale, lead, impression or click to their site, such method is referred to as affiliate program. I will describe this program in a more clarifying way. Let say I am selling tv. If my tv sells for $200, I may have an affiliate program where someone can sign up. What you will need to do is to simply sign up and start promoting my tv with the link I provide. When someone signs up, you will be paid their fixed commission.

The thing there is to find an affiliate program that pays a good commission and advertise it at google adwords. This will not be an easy process, but it is possible. There are people in this game that generate thousands of dollars per month. If they can do it, why can’t you do it as well? Your first stop right now will be to select an affiliate program. When you have selected one, sign up at their affiliate page and get your link. The next stop is to sign up at google adwords. You will need to fund your account with a recommended capital of $100. You will need to create a website. If you are not ready to buy and host a site, you can as well use a free blogsite. An example of a free blogsite is blogger.

After creating the blogger, create a blogpage where you will review the product of the affiliate program you have selected. You will need to review one product per blogpage. The next stop is to create a google ad using the link of your blogpage, fix your ad usually not greater than $0.20, sit back, relax and watch your money roll in.

In order to succeed using this method to make it, you will need an internet marketing course. This course will enable you to kick aside the challenges in this system of making money. I’m going to be doing a two part post on how to create your own eBook. You can consider this an extension of my post on how to really make money with Clickbank. Blogging has rapidly become a big part of many freelance writers’ income. Small businesses want bloggers who can create steady traffic streams to their sites. Blog networks want writers who can keep the ad revenues coming in. Even some traditional publications want bloggers so they’ve got content on their websites between issues. That’s a surprisingly high demand, which can mean good money for a blogger with a solid portfolio.

I’ve been through the hiring process with just about every type of blogging client and I’ve found, consistently, that the only thing that clients really care about when hiring a blogger is seeing the applicant’s own blog and writing clips. Sure, they may ask for a resume, but in many cases, it’s little more than a formality. A resume doesn’t show that you know how to write, after all, nor does it demonstrate that you have any skill in building traffic.

What Clients Look For In Blogs

While many clients want to see that a blogger already has experience writing for another client, being able to show off a personal blog can help an applicant move to the top of the stack. There’s a certain checklist that goes through a client’s mind when looking at a blog:

• Does this blogger post consistently? Keeping up with a regular blogging schedule can be tough. Clients like to know ahead of time that a blogger will be able to keep up with the schedule, as well as consistently come up with new ideas for topics.
• Does this blogger interact with readers? While a client probably won’t go through and count the comments on every post, he wants to know that you can keep readers coming back. One of the easiest ways to check is to see how you respond to comments. If there are on-going conversations on your blog, clients can tell you can connect.
• Does this blogger get traffic? When you com down to it, the goal of every blog is to bring in traffic. Your blog doesn’t have to be perfect to win over a new client, although the better shape you can get your own work in, the better impression a prospective client will have of you. You can do a little spring house-cleaning on your site and improve your chances of landing a good blogging gig.

Something as simple as making sure that your blog is on your own domain name. Having been on the hiring side myself, it’s easy for a client to dismiss a blogger on Blogspot or WordPress.com as an amateur. More than a few clients will assume that you can’t make enough from your blogging to afford a domain name — and considering how low the price tag is for that, they won’t think too well of you.

Adding in links to your work elsewhere, such as guest posts on other blogs or articles for other publications, can also help you improve your blog’s ability to sell you to a client. The fact that you get to write on sites that you don’t control can really drive home the point that you’re a good blogger and worth hiring.

In general, you need to consider your personal blog your portfolio, if you want to get paid to write for other blogs. No matter what other purpose you want your own site to serve, it must showcase your ability to blog.

1) Pay-per-click (CPC) advertising programs and how to earn money by blogging.
